Team Manager
Requirements
There are 5 steps for coaching credentials and 4 for team manager credentials. Each step takes time to complete and process. Clearances can take several weeks to process, and then the USA Hockey screening can take another two weeks. The process should be completed by August 1st.
To submit for reimbursement, please print out receipts, put them in an envelope labeled with your name, and place the envelope in the treasurer’s mailbox once the rink opens.
Step 1:
USA Hockey Registration
You need a new number every year

All coaches must register with USA Hockey before participating in any on-ice activities for the current season and cannot be added to a roster until completed
Step 2:
PA Required Screening
Once completed, these clearances are each valid for 60 months

A fingerprint-based FBI Federal Criminal History Report is also required if the coach has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.

Coaches who have been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the last 10 years can swear or affirm in writing (using Exemption Affidavit) that they are not disqualified from service based upon a conviction of an offense under §6344 in lieu of completing the Federal report

Step 3: USA Hockey Screening
The NCIS screening needs to be completed every two years

Step 4: Safesport Training
SafeSport is valid for one year and must be re-done each season

How will my program know that I completed SafeSport Training?

Information from the training site is automatically downloaded to the USA Hockey database on a nightly basis

Local program registrars will also be able to check (through the USA Hockey Registry) to see if athletes/coaches/managers/volunteers in their association have completed SafeSport Training and it will be indicated on team rosters

If you are a referee, SafeSport Training will be indicated on your referee profile, though it can take a few days for this to appear on your profile

Step 5: USA Hockey Age Specific Coaching Modules
Must be completed for your age group

This can be started as soon as you have your USA Hockey number

All coaches must complete any required online age-specific module(s) prior to participating in any team activities and cannot be added to a roster until completed.
Step 6: USA Hockey Coaching Clinics
Must be completed every year

This can be started as soon as you have your USA Hockey number

All coaches must find, register, and attend the required USA Hockey coaching clinics by December 31 of the current year
