6U Co-ed

Mite Director: Paul Melanson Tuition: $900

6U Mite Director: Paul Melanson

I’m excited and honored to serve as the Mite Director this season. As both a coach and a hockey parent—with my son Cade playing 8U and my daughter Raegan in Learn to Play—I’m especially grateful to be part of the CCSC community.
Hockey has been part of my life since I was young, and I was fortunate to play competitively through prep school, the United States Hockey League (USHL), and into college. I bring a lifelong love of the game and strongly believe the early years are all about building fundamentals, confidence, and a lasting passion for hockey.
I’m committed to creating a positive, fun environment where players develop a strong foundation, learn teamwork, and most importantly, enjoy coming to the rink every day.
Looking forward to a season full of growth, teamwork, and fun.  Go Cougars!

In addition to a family-focused environment, a clean and safe facility, and the highest quality ice in the area, your tuition includes:

  • DVHL 6U league games OR 6U Light Travel games

  • Two practices per week during the season (most weeks)

  • Summer practices

  • Mite jamboree (6U-8U)

  • Open Hockey for your entire family

  • Family Skate for your entire family

  • CCSC Cougars practice jerseys

  • Cougars helmet stickers and numbers

8U Girls

Head Coach: Nick Matarese Team Projections: Anticipating fielding 1 team Tuition: No Fee

8U Girls Head Coach: Nick Matarese

Hockey has been part of my life since I was very young, playing everything from street hockey with my brother all the way through college. After playing 4 years at the University of Delaware, I was named an assistant coach/ goalie coach for the University immediately following my graduation where I stayed and coached for 10 years for multiple final fours and winning a National Championship.
When my daughter started to fall in love with hockey we were very excited to join CCSC where she could grow as a player while not feeling like the only girl on the ice. Last year was my first year coaching mites (or anyone under the age of 16 before) and I immediately loved it. Combining a mixture of fun, love of the sport, and teamwork with the skill an knowledge to develop and grow strong hockey players on and off the ice.

  • No fee to participate

  • No evaluation needed to join

  • Open to all CCSC girls birth years 2018, 2019, and 2020

  • Our 8U Girls team will play in select MAWHA 8U Girls Jamborees (additional 8U Girls scrimmages and/or a tournament could be added if there is interest).  We prioritize local game opportunities.

  • There will not be a designated 8U Girls practice

  • We recommend that our 8U Girls play on a CCSC 6U/8U co-ed team so that they can be placed on a team with similarly skilled players, which is ideal for development.  Our 8U Girls team will be a mix of ages and skill levels.  The goals of our 8U Girls team will be to provide a supportive environment that boosts confidence, fosters strong friendships, and enhances our CCSC girls love of the game.

I’m fortunate to have been introduced to this great game at an early age, starting my hockey journey in the DVHL, advancing through to Prep School, Junior, and Collegiate levels. My coaching journey began immediately following college, and includes experience working with players 8U through college, and every age and skill level in between.

Coaching and working with hockey players remain a passion. Watching players grow, improve, and develop not only as athletes but as individuals is what motivates me every day in the rink. My goal has always been to make a positive impact on players, both on and off the ice, and I look forward to continuing that journey with our 10U athletes this season.

12U Head Coach: Mike Bojarski

I’m so thrilled to be chosen as the head coach for the 12U team for this hockey season!  This marks my seventh year as part of the CCSC Hockey Community. With two of my own children actively involved in CCSC, I’ve had the privilege of coaching across various age groups and skill levels.  My coaching philosophy centers on creating a positive team environment, nurturing individual skills, and encouraging hard work while cultivating a team first approach to the game.  My goal is to instill a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the game of hockey in every player while also using the sport as a method to impart valuable life lessons.

I’m looking forward to a fun and productive year.

Let’s go, Cougars!

14U Co-ed

Head Coach: Dave Reis Team Projections: Anticipating fielding 2 teams (AA and A/B) Tuition: $2,350

14U Head Coach: Dave Reis

I married into a CCSC hockey family. My wife grew up at the barn, with all four of her brothers playing hockey at CCSC, and our own kids followed that same path. We have two sons currently playing at the 16U and 18U levels, one son playing college hockey at the University of Rhode Island, and a daughter, the youngest, who competes in cheerleading.
I have five years of coaching experience in youth hockey at the 12U, 14U, and 16U levels, along with two years coaching high school baseball. My coaching philosophy is simple- 1-build strong habits and 2- practice as hard as you play in a game.  Winning games is a byproduct of those habits and effort.  I believe practice should be competitive, engaging, and fun.  I use small-area games and score-based decision making drills to keep the practices moving and intense. Becoming a great teammate is a top priority.  Our goal will be to have the players steadily improve throughout the season and finish not only as better hockey players, but as better teammates.  I look forward to working with the 14U age group again.

18U Co-ed

Head Coach: Gary Doucette Team Projections: Anticipating fielding 2 teams (AA and A) Tuition: $2,350

18U Head Coach: Gary Doucette

After 3 years coaching in Idaho, where I was Director of Coaching and helped the Victor Cutthroats to their first ever HS State Championship, my wife and I returned to PA. Rejoining to the Cougars with Nick Basilio and Joe DiPierro, we picked up right where we left off. The season was a great success, with the 16A team winning Districts. The 25-26 18AA has had a solid season, winning the Congressional Cup and qualifying for playoffs. In our first year at the AA level, this is no small feat.

I am a Level 5 Coach and a USA Hockey Coach Developer. In my 30+ years of coaching, I have coached every level from Mites to Juniors.

Both of my kids, Madison (Unionville, Jr Flyers) and Philippe (CCSC, Unionville, ASU) are done playing hockey but my passion for the game has not diminished. Regardless of age, everyone needs a place to get away and just have fun. For me, it has always been the rink. Ensuring the same is true for my players is a large part of my coaching philosophy. We will have fun but make no mistake, our goal is to win hockey games.

I am excited to be part of a team that plays hockey the “right” way; up tempo and physical with a high compete level. We will be a team that is hard to play against. Go Cougars!
