Meet Hudson Reihl—A True Team Player and Cates' Mates Winner

In the world of youth hockey, where talent and skill often take the spotlight, one young player stands out not just for his abilities on the ice but for his incredible character and leadership. Meet Hudson Reihl, a 9-year-old forward who is not only a top scorer for his team but also the embodiment of what it means to be a true team player. Husdon plays on the CCSC Cougars 10U A American team.

The Ultimate Team Player

Hudson’s stats only tell part of the story. What truly makes him special is his unselfish play and commitment to his teammates.

  • First to Pass the Puck: Hudson’s vision on the ice is unparalleled, often finding open teammates for easier scoring opportunities.

  • Assists Galore: This season, Hudson’s assist total nearly matches his goal count, a testament to his playmaking abilities and team-first mentality.

A Goalie’s Best Friend

One of Hudson’s unique habits is checking in with the goalie whenever someone else scores. Hudson takes a moment to offer words of encouragement or a simple pat on the back. This small gesture helps maintain a positive atmosphere and keeps the team’s morale high.

Clean Game, Levelheaded Attitude

In a sport where emotions can run high, Hudson plays a remarkably clean game. He rarely, if ever, commits a penalty and is known for his sportsmanlike conduct. His levelheaded attitude serves as a model for his younger teammates, teaching them the importance of discipline and respect.

A Helping Hand

Hudson’s commitment to his teammates extends beyond the game itself. If a player gets injured, Hudson is the first one to offer assistance, whether it’s helping them off the ice or providing words of comfort. His kindness and respect earn him the admiration of coaches, parents, and players alike.

Conclusion

Hudson Reihl is more than just a great hockey player; he is a role model for what it means to be a true team player. His skills on the ice are matched by his character off it, making him a standout in every sense of the word. As he continues to grow and develop, there’s no doubt that Hudson will leave a lasting impact on everyone he meets, both on and off the ice.

About Cates' Mates

Flyers forward Noah Cates will host local youth hockey players as his guests throughout the season. A player could be nominated for a variety of reasons, such as overcoming obstacles, committing to community service, or providing on and off-ice leadership. Each Cates’ Mates recipient will receive four lower-level tickets to a Flyers game and a post-game meet and greet with Noah.

Play and Player of the Week

Aidan McAnulla

18U A Cardello

Aidan made an incredible penalty shot goal!

Parker Thompson

16U AA Grassi

Parker added to his already impressive points total on Sunday. He scored twice and assisted on two goals to lead the team to victory over the Union Thunder. Just a few hours later, he netted a hat trick, including the game-winner against the Hunterdon Bears. The performance moved Parker into a tie for the divisional points lead with 27 points in just seven games played.

Parker makes a great steal at our blue line, battles up the side boards while fighting off a defender, and snaps a shot high, short side through a space barely larger than the puck.

8U Corey Team

On Sunday, the 8U Cougars ventured to Wilkes-Barre, where they showcased their skills against the Jr. Penguins. Despite having a short bench, the Cougars delivered a dominant performance, with Cece Corey shining in goal and achieving a shutout. Well done, Cougars!
